Spurs have finally made an official offer for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish with a bid of up to £25m being placed, a report claims.
According to the Telegraph, Tottenham have launched a big-money bid for the 22-year-old in the hopes of forcing Villa to part with their main asset.
Grealish is reportedly interested in a move to north London and would jump at the chance of playing Champions League football.
However, any hopes of him securing a switch before Thursday’s transfer deadline rest on Villa’s new owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens being prepared to do business.
Villa boss Steve Bruce hasn’t hidden from the fact there is interest in his player, and he told Sky Sports: “He is not for sale, however, it is very difficult when we are competing against a team which is one of the big teams in Europe now, not just in this country, and has played in the Champions League.
“But the owner has made it pretty clear that he does not want to sell anybody and that includes Jack.”
