Tottenham were offered the chance to re-sign Luka Modric from Real Madrid this summer, a report claims.

Modric was heavily linked with a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan, however according to BeIN Sports they were not the only team who considered a move.

They claim that Spurs were offered the chance to bring the Croatia international back to north London by the player’s representatives.

However, they ultimately passed on the chance to sign him in a deal that would have seen them offer the same terms as Inter.

Reports had suggested that Modric tried to push through a move to Inter despite being a boyhood AC Milan fan.

The 32-year-old denied this however, calling the rumours: “It’s the greatest nonsense in history!!”

Real president Florentino Perez stated in Miami that “the only way Modric leaves is if they [Inter] pay €750m.”

There were reports that the Nerazzurri were ready to offer Modric a €10m-a-year deal and pay Real Madrid €10m for a loan deal.
