Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has claimed that he would not even swap teammate Harry Kane for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kane has been in red hot form for Spurs, netting nine goals in his last six games for the North London side.

The England international has even been linked with a move to the La Liga giants in recent weeks, with Real president Florentino Perez suggesting Kane would carry a €250m price tag.

Vertonghen spoke about comparisons between Ronaldo and Kane, insisting that both are great players, but he is happy to have the Englishman on his side.

“They are both unbelievable players,” Vertonghen said to reporters on Tuesday. “Ronaldo has his qualities and Harry has his.

“We have to show respect to Ronaldo for what he has won, his level and how he is still doing it.

“Harry for me is one of the best No 9s in Europe, maybe the best. He shows that every week and I wouldn’t swap Harry for any player at the moment.”
