Middlesbrough v Leicester City

  • Middlesbrough are winless in their last 13 league games against Leicester (D7 L6), since a 1-0 win at the Riverside Stadium in March 2002.
  • Indeed, Middlesbrough’s 13-game winless run against Leicester is their longest current winless streak against any team.
  • The Foxes twice came from behind to draw 2-2 in the reverse fixture in November, thanks to penalties from Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani.
  • Leicester have scored exactly two goals in five of their last six league meetings with the Boro.
  • Middlesbrough have won as many Premier League games at the Riverside in their last five games as they did in their previous 21 (3).
  • Leicester’s return of two points from their first nine away games of the season is the joint-lowest total by a defending top-flight champion (alongside Blackburn in 1995/96 and Derby in 1972/73).
  • Indeed, the Foxes are winless in their last 11 Premier League away games, drawing four and losing seven.
  • Islam Slimani has now scored 15 of his 33 league goals since the start of last season from headers (45%).

  • Everton are unbeaten in their last 11 home Premier League games against Southampton (W8 D3), conceding just six goals in that time.
  • Saints won the reverse of this fixture in November thanks to Charlie Austin’s 1st minute goal – they’ve not beaten Everton twice in the same league season since the 1997-98 campaign.
  • The Toffees beat Southampton 7-1 in November 1996, one of just two times they’ve netted seven goals in a Premier League game (also 7-1 v Sunderland in November 2007).
  • Everton have lost just one of their last 12 Premier League games at Goodison Park (W6 D5), although that defeat came last time out to rivals Liverpool.
  • Everton have won just three of their last 14 Premier League matches – losing twice as many games in this period (W3 D5 L6).
  • Ronald Koeman has won 27 points in his first 19 Premier League games as Everton manager in the Premier League; six fewer than he’d won at this stage in to his tenure at Southampton (33 points).
  • Southampton have exactly the same record at the halfway point of the Premier League season under Claude Puel, as they did last season under Ronald Koeman (P19 W6 D6 L7, 24 points).
  • Romelu Lukaku has only scored one goal in 12 Premier League appearances for Everton in the month of January (960 minutes).
  • Leighton Baines has been involved in more goals than any other defender in Premier League history (78 – 29 goals, 49 assists). He also needs one more assist to be the first defender to reach 50 in the Premier League.
  • Southampton have lost their last two Premier League games – they haven’t lost three in a row since December 2014 (four in succession).

 

Manchester City v Burnley

  • Both previous Premier League meetings between these sides at the Etihad have finished level (3-3 and 2-2), with Burnley equalising in the final 10 minutes both times.
  • Burnley’s last win away at Man City in league competition was in March 1963 (5-2), drawing six and losing six since then.
  • Man City are unbeaten in their last 28 home Premier League games against newly promoted sides (W25 D3) since losing 0-2 to Reading in February 2007. Two of those three draws have been against Burnley.
  • Along with the KCOM Stadium, the Etihad is one of just two Premier League grounds that Burnley have visited more than once and not lost at.
  • The Citizens have lost only once in their last 12 Premier League contests at the Etihad Stadium (W7 D4) and have found the net in 16 of their last 17 matches on home soil.
  • Burnley have picked up just one point from a possible 24 on the road this season (W0 D1 L7).
  • Burnley have won the lowest proportion of their Premier League points away from home this season (1/23 – 4%).
  • The Clarets have failed to score in 11 of their last 17 Premier League away games, netting just six goals in the process.

  • The Reds have won their last two visits to the Stadium of Light by a 1-0 scoreline, with a new signing scoring the winner both times (Lazar Markovic in 2014-15 and Christian Benteke in 2015-16).
  • David Moyes has won just one of his last 16 Premier League games as a manager against Liverpool (D5 L10), winning 2-0 with Everton back in October 2010.
  • Each of Liverpool’s last five Premier League goals against Sunderland have come in the second half.
  • After a run of five Premier League games without a win at the Stadium of Light, the Black Cats have won three of their last four, keeping two clean sheets (L1).
  • Liverpool have won their last two away games, keeping a clean sheet on both occasions; they last won three in a row without conceding in January 2015 – a run which included a victory at the Stadium on Light.
  • Jermain Defoe has scored nine of Sunderland’s 17 Premier League goals this season – three times as many as any other player for the club (Anichebe & van Aanholt, 3).

  • The Baggies have won just one of their previous seven Premier League meetings with Hull (D4 L2), 1-0 in Tony Pulis’ first game in charge in January 2015.
  • Hull have conceded just two goals in their three Premier League visits to the Hawthorns – the fewest shipped at any away ground they’ve played at more than twice.
  • This will be West Bromwich Albion’s 400th Premier League game.
  • West Brom have netted 3+ goals in four different Premier League home games this season; their joint-most in a season with 2008/09 and 2010/11.
  • The Baggies have won three of their last four Premier League matches at the Hawthorns, netting 10 goals in the process (L1).
  • Hull have lost their last seven Premier League away games, shipping 20 goals; the last PL side to lose eight in a row were Newcastle (nine games) in April 2016 and were eventually relegated.
  • David Marshall has now played 14 Premier League games for Hull without a clean sheet. Only two goalkeepers have played more PL games for a club before keeping a clean sheet – Julian Speroni at Crystal Palace (16 games) and John Ruddy at Norwich (20 games).

  • West Ham are unbeaten in their last four Premier League meetings with Manchester United (W1 D3) – they’ve never gone five games unbeaten them in their English league history.
  • Manchester United lost away at West Ham last season, in the last ever game at the Boleyn Ground – they’ve not lost consecutive away games against West Ham since December 2007.
  • Slaven Bilic could become only the second manager to remain unbeaten in his first four Premier League encounters with the Red Devils (Ruud Gullit the other).
  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored three goals in Manchester United’s two previous encounters with West Ham this season (One in Premier League, Two in EFL Cup).
  • Anthony Martial has scored five goals in his last four appearances against West Ham in all competitions.
  • West Ham have won consecutive Premier League games at the London Stadium for the first time. They last won three home matches in a row in March 2016.
  • The Red Devils are unbeaten in their last four on the road (W3 D1); they haven’t gone five unbeaten in the Premier League since February 2015 (seven games).
  • Manchester United last won three consecutive Premier League away games in April 2014, when they enjoyed four successive victories – a run that also included a win over West Ham.
  • Paul Pogba has been directly involved in four goals in his last four Premier League appearances (two goals, two assists).
  • Dimitri Payet has created a league-high 72 chances in the Premier League this season – that’s 52 more than any other West Ham player (Lanzini – 20).

Bournemouth v Arsenal

  • Callum Wilson’s penalty in the reverse fixture at the Emirates was Bournemouth’s first ever competitive goal against Arsenal.
  • Arsenal have won all four of their previous meetings with Bournemouth in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and conceding just one.
  • Mesut Ozil has scored twice and assisted another in his three previous Premier League games against Bournemouth.
  • Bournemouth have conceded two or more goals in three of their last four at the Vitality Stadium (W2 L2).
  • The Cherries have won five of their last eight Premier League home games – the same tally that they managed in their first 20 games at home in the competition.
  • The Gunners have lost their last two Premier League away games 1-2, each time losing from a winning position; they haven’t lost three in a row since October 2011.
  • Both teams have got on the scoresheet in seven of Arsenal’s last eight Premier League matches on the road.
  • No Bournemouth player has more assists (7) or chances created (54) than defender Charlie Daniels in the Premier League.
  • Alexis Sanchez has scored nine goals and assisted three more in nine Premier League away appearances this season.

  • There were as many goals in the last Premier League fixture between these sides (9) as there had been in the previous six combined.
  • In that match, Swansea became only the fourth team to turn defeat into victory with two 90th minute strikes in a Premier League match (Man City v QPR 2011-12, Everton v Tottenham 2012-13 and Watford v Aston Villa 2015-16).
  • The Swans have kept four clean sheets their last five away league games against the Eagles, conceding just once in the other match (W3 D1 L1).
  • Four of the seven previous Premier League meetings between these sides have ended in a draw, with Crystal Palace winning once (L2).
  • The Eagles have lost five of their last six Premier League fixtures at Selhurst Park, winning against Southampton. However, their last three PL wins at home have come against sides beginning with the letter S (Stoke x2 and Southampton).
  • Swansea have lost seven of their last eight away games in the top-flight (D1), conceding an average of 2.6 goals per game.
  • Swansea have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 Premier League games and have conceded 3+ goals in eight of these matches.

  • However, Watford are unbeaten in their last four league visits, winning three of these (D1).
  • Stoke have failed to score in their last four home league games against Watford – if they fail again here they will equal their worst run of consecutive home games without scoring against another opponent (5 vs Leyton Orient in 1925 and Liverpool in 1973).
  • Troy Deeney has scored two goals in his three previous Premier League games against Stoke City.
  • Deeney has scored eight Premier League away goals since the start of last season – no Stoke player has scored more than eight at home in this period.
  • Stoke have won three of their last seven home games in the top-flight, losing just once in this run (D3).
  • Stoke have averaged 1.65 points per game at home in the Premier League under Mark Hughes; a marginally better record than under Tony Pulis (1.61).
  • The Hornets have lost four successive Premier League away games, shipping 12 goals in the process – although half of these did arrive in their defeat at Anfield.

  • Chelsea have won more Premier League games (26) and scored more Premier League goals (92) against Spurs than they have against any other opponent.
  • Harry Kane has scored 17 goals in his last 17 Premier League London derbies, including netting 10 in his last nine played at White Hart Lane.
  • In fact, of players to have played more than one London derby in the Premier League, Kane has the best goals per game ratio (0.78 – 18 goals in 23 derby apps).
  • The Blues have not won at White Hart Lane since a 4-2 victory in October 2012 (D2 L1 since).
  • This will be the first fixture to be played 50 times in the Premier League.
  • This will be Mauricio Pochettino’s 150th Premier League games as a manager.
  • Spurs have won four consecutive Premier League home games for the first time since August 2014 (five wins).
