Stoke have completed the signing of Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham on a season-long loan.
It’s a fourth temporary spell away from Tottenham for the English-born USA defender, after he spent time at Swansea last season.
Carter-Vickers was being chased by a large number of fellow Championship clubs, but we revealed earlier that Stoke had won the race – ahead of the likes of Leeds and Fulham.
The 21-year-old will spend the entire 2019-20 season at the Bet365 Stadium.
“Cameron’s arrival strengthens our central defensive resources which is something we made a priority after Ryan Shawcross suffered his unfortunate injury,” Stoke boss Nathan Jones said.
“He’s a highly promising young player who has already shown that the Championship holds no fears for him. He was wanted by a number of clubs at this level and we’re delighted to have managed to sign him.”
