Newly promoted Serie A side Parma have been linked with a surprise move for Stoke City’s Peter Crouch.
Crouch was relegated with Stoke this year in his seventh season at the club, after joining from Tottenham Hotspur in 2011.
According to SportItalia, the 37-year-old could be handed an escape from the Potters by Parma, who have returned to Serie A for the first time since their 2015 bankruptcy after a third-straight promotion.
It would be a sensational move for the former England international, who does have experience of playing abroad. In 2000, he was sent out on loan to Swedish side IFK Hassleholm.
Parma have also been linked with another striker at an English club. They are looking to take Southampton’s Manolo Gabbiadini back to Italy after one-and-a-half years on the South Coast.
Gabbiadini scored just five goals last season, but his last – the only goal in a 1-0 win over Swansea – was pivotal in securing Premier League survival for the Saints.
