Mesut Ozil’s friend Berkay Ozcan has confirmed talks with Arsenal over a potential future move.

Ozcan has impressed for Stuttgart’s youth sides in recent seasons, and finally made his first-team debut in August.

The 19-year-old is yet to start a game for the club, but is regarded as one of the Bundesliga’s finest emerging talents.

He claims that Arsenal have been keeping tabs on him for two years.

“My agent and I are in talks with Arsenal,” Ozcan told beIN Turkey. “Arsenal have been scouting me for the past two years and send representatives to watch my games.

“I am not sure if now is the right time to join Arsenal, it may be a bit early for me. I want to prove myself here and keep developing first.

“Ultimately, Arsenal is the club I want to join in the future, god willing I will achieve my goal.”

Ozcan added that he is good friends with Mesut Ozil, another player born in Germany but of Turkish origin.

“When we come to Germany, we are meeting quite well when the opportunity arises,” Ozcan said.

“We go to the same café, we go to eat once, my hair is like him.”
