Sub Rob Earn’s Forest a vital victory

The visitors took the lead on 17 when Matt Thornhill found a pocket of space on the edge of the area and took a touch to kill the ball before driving past David Marshall and into the top corner.

Forest doubled their lead on 30 when Lewis McGugan ran to the edge of the area and calmly passed the ball through Marshall’s legs.

The Canaries got a goal back with 17 minutes remaining when Gary Doherty smashed a header against the crossbar and Darel Russell reacted with a low ball back across goal which went in off Ian Breckin.

Earnshaw capped the win for Forest on 88 with a clinical finish but there was still time for a second own goal when a cross was turned into his own net by the flying Joe Garner.
