Sunderland announce sacking of manager Simon Grayson

Sunderland have have sacked Simon Grayson as manager, the club has confirmed.
The Black Cats failed to win a vital home clash against Bolton on Tuesday night, drawing 3-3 at the Stadium of Light.
They did lead for the first time at home in over a year thanks to Paddy McNair – his goals making it 3-2 – but they failed to hang on and stayed rooted in the bottom three as a result.
Sunderland released a statement via their official website within minutes of the final whistle to confirm Grayson’s departure.
The statement said: “Sunderland AFC has this evening parted company with manager Simon Grayson. The club would like to place on record its thanks to Simon and his staff for their efforts during their time at the football club.”
