Surprise suitor eyes move for former Liverpool star Sturridge

Serie A side Bologna are reportedly keen on signing former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.

Sturridge is now a free agent after his Reds contract expired, and the Sunday Express claims that Bologna have approached the Englishman about a move.

The report states that while the Italian outfit are putting together a package for the 29-year-old, they will need to come down considerably from the £120,000 (€133,000) a week he earned at Anfield.

Sturridge scored 67 goals in 160 appearances in six-and-a-half seasons at Anfield, helping them win the Champions League last season after they beat Tottenham in an all-English final.

However, he has struggled to earn a regular starting spot under Jurgen Klopp and was allowed to move on the by German.

Sturridge has also been linked with Aston Villa and Rangers as he searches for a new club.
