One Liverpool defender looks set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season, which could reportedly spell good news for a talented young full-back.

Alberto Moreno is set to leave Liverpool in the summer on a free transfer according to goal.com, as the Spaniard seeks regular game-time. The left-back has been more of a spectator at Anfield since the meteoric rise of Andrew Robertson last season, and having played just one game this year for the Reds so far, a move away from Merseyside seems most beneficial for both sides.

Since his arrival at Liverpool in 2014 under Brendan Rodgers, the defender has been subject to plenty of criticism by the fans, but remains a popular figure within the dressing room and his constant hard-work and determination will leave no grudges among the Anfield faithful.

The departure of Moreno may open the door for academy graduate Adam Lewis, who could join fellow starlets like Ben Woodburn, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dominic Solanke in Liverpool’s first-team plans.

Lewis, 18 has impressed for the U23’s recently, earning himself a place at Melwood training with Liverpool’s top talent and it may just be a matter of time before he makes his senior debut.
