Thanks, but no thanks says Chelsea boss target

Erik Ten Hag TEAMtalk

Highly-rated Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag says he is not thinking about joining Chelsea or Barcelona in the summer.

Ten Hag, 49, guided Ajax to the semi-finals of the Champions League and that had apparently made Chelsea take note.

With Maurizio Sarri’s future uncertain the Blues could be looking for another new manager this summer and Ten Hag was believed to be a candidate.

However, the Dutch manager speaking in a press conference confirmed his desire to remain in Amsterdam: “It’s an honour to be linked with big clubs like Barcelona, Bayern and Chelsea but I have a contract with Ajax and I am happy here. There are no problems for me.

“I am happy and I’m planning my future here, I am not thinking about leaving.”

Chelsea have decided that they will sack Sarri at the end of the season, according to a shock report from Italy.

Sarri arrived from Napoli last summer but has drawn plenty of criticism for his tactical stubbornness despite relative success.

The Italian has guided the Blues to a top-four finish in the Premier League, and they have the chance to win the Europa League in Baku later this month.

Sarri has admitted that he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge but recently refused to offer any assurances amid links with the Roma job.

Now, Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Roman Abramovich is ready to sack Sarri due to his ‘troubled relationship with the club’s fans’.
