Manchester United are willing to pay €70million (£63million) up front in a deal involving three years of instalments to pull off a move for Jadon Sancho, according to a top source.

After months of links to United’s interest in the winger, the speculation has increased several notches this week.

Reports on Monday and Tuesday claimed a deal was close, with personal terms agreed for the Borussia Dortmund star.

However, further claims late on Tuesday evening raised concerns about the move. The speculation claimed United are unwilling to match Dortmund’s £108million valuation in the coronavirus-impacted market.

According to The Times, Dortmund are wary that Manchester City will benefit from significant windfall from the deal. Therefore, the German giants want as much profit as possible.

Now, SPORTbild reporter Christian Falk maintains that Dortmund are equally unwilling to budge from their valuation.

However, the journalist (via Twitter) adds that United’s plan to work around their concerns is to pay £63million up front.

Furthermore, the Red Devils will pay €30million (£27million) next summer and €20million (£18million) in 2022.

Falk also added insight into why United are unwilling to comment on their transfer dealings. Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer kept his cards close to his chest when reporters asked about Sancho in Tuesday’s press conference.

However, Falk says (via Twitter) United are working with a “neutral agent” who allows the club to stand aside while the deal is completed.

Sancho is hot property having produced his best season in front of goal. The England international, 20, scored 20 goals and assisted 20 others in 44 appearances this season.
