Reguilon-Sevilla-TEAMtalk-1

Tottenham have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid, although they had to bow to two clauses inserted for the left-back.

The 23-year-old is undergoing a medical in Spain on Thursday ahead of his proposed switch to Spurs.

The Spain international was named the best left-back in LaLiga for his performances on loan at Sevilla last term.

Real Madrid are well-stocked at left-back, with Marcelo and Ferland Mendy already on their books. So they are keen to sell Reguilon and raise funds to balance the books.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that a fee of €30m has been agreed. However, Spurs have had to bow to two stipulations from the LaLiga champions.

Real Madrid want a buy-back and pre-emption (first refusal) on the player, which Tottenham have agreed.

Romano adds that was a major sticking point for Manchester United in their bid to sign the player. Claiming that they did not agree to the buy-back option.

Reguilon could be joined at Spurs by Real team-mate Gareth Bale, who also arrived at the club’s training ground on Thursday morning.

Both players would be expected to fly to London once their medicals are completed and terms are agreed.

The two players will join Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Matt Doherty and Joe Hart as the club’s new signings.

There are also expected to be further additions, with Jose Mourinho also after another striker and potentially a centre-back.

Torino hotshot Andrea Belotti has been mentioned as an attacking target, while South Korean defender Kim Min-Jae is also on Tottenham’s radar.

REAL REJECT CHANCE TO SIGN DELE ALLI

Real Madrid have reportedly rejected the chance to sign Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli as part of the deal to take Gareth Bale back to north London.

The Wales winger looks to be closing in on a surprise return to Spurs, seven years after his exit.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Real were looking to sign Dele on a temporary basis as part of the transfer.

But it looks like a transfer to Spain is a complete non-starter for Dele, according to Spanish publication AS anyway.

They claim that the 24-year-old was never an option as Real made it abundantly clear early on that they were not interested. Read more…
