Tottenham include recall clause as defender joins Bournemouth on loan

Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan deal.

The 22-year-old will spend the season in the Championship, in what will be his sixth different loan spell away from Tottenham. Last season, he spent time with Stoke and Luton.

A number of second tier clubs were interested in the USA international, who was born in England. But Bournemouth have won the race.

TEAMtalk exclusively revealed last month that Bournemouth was the most likely destination for Carter-Vickers. Now, the deal has finally gone through.

Carter-Vickers has not played for Tottenham since the 2016-17 season, when Mauricio Pochettino gave him four appearances in cup competitions.

The defender remains under contract with Spurs until 2021. Pending EFL approval, he will be on loan at Bournemouth for the rest of that time.

Tottenham have the option to recall Carter-Vickers in January if they wish.

Another deal Spurs have completed on domestic deadline day is the signing of Joe Rodon from Swansea.

The Wales defender has been a target for Tottenham all summer, and their patience has finally paid off.

Rodon has joined Tottenham for a fee that could rise to £15m. He follows the likes of Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in joining the club over the past few months.
