Tottenham given golden chance as top target asks for talks with Mourinho

Atalanta right-back Timothy Castagne has requested talks with Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho as part of his search for a new club, according to a report.
Castagne has impressed in his side’s push for a strong Serie A finish this season, playing 21 times in the Italian top flight.
Indeed, he has also been pivotal in Atalanta’s Champions League run. The club are into the last eight of the competition, where they will face Paris Saint-Germain.
Amid his standout performances, the fact he has one year left on his contract has made his future uncertain.
The Belgium international has already admitted that a potential move to the Premier League excites him, with Spurs reportedly planning negotiations.
Now, Le10 Sport claims those talks will soon take place and they will be held between the player and Mourinho.
Castagne and his representatives want to speak with the Portuguese to assess Tottenham’s interest. The source says the talks will be pivotal if Spurs are to convince Castagne to move to north London.
However, Le10 Sport adds that Leicester and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on the 24-year-old. As such, Castagne will also be speaking to Brendan Rodgers and Thomas Tuchel about their interest.
In any case, the source says “nothing will happen” before the end of the Serie A season. Atalanta, meanwhile, are also keen to hold their own discussions with Castagne about remaining in Serie A.
MOURINHO WANTS EUROPA LEAGUE CHARGE
Elsewhere, Mourinho says he wants to win next season’s Europa League with Spurs.
Spurs are seven points off the top four but are firmly in the hunt for a Europa League finish. Indeed, Sunday’s 2-1 win over Arsenal boosted such hopes.
The Gunners struck first through Alexandre Lacazette but Toby Alderweireld completed the comeback in the second half.
