Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have joined the race for wantaway Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, according to reports.
Despite signing a new contract with the Amsterdam club in May, Tagliafico confirmed he would only be staying in the Eredivisie for one more year – and several Premier League clubs are now queuing up.
Already suggested as an option for Chelsea, with Marcos Alonso slipping down the pecking order and Emerson Palmieri linked with a reunion with Maurizio Sarri at Juventus, Tagliafico is now said to have two more suitors from England.
According to El Intransigente, both Spurs and Everton have expressed an interest in the Argentina international.
Tottenham full-back Ben Davies is currently sidelined with a ligament injury, while the club unsuccessfully tried to move Danny Rose on in the summer, meaning Jose Mourinho could be on the lookout for reinforcements in the role.
As for Everton, who have sacked manager Marco Silva, Lucas Digne has nailed down the starting spot, but veteran backup Leighton Baines is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning they may be in the market for a long-term successor.
The report does say that other European clubs are currently ahead in the race, with Borussia Dortmund prepared to pay up to €60m for the 27-year-old and Roma also keeping tabs on the situation.
