Spurs eye LaLiga star with £31m clause to fix midfield troubles

Tottenham will make a late summer bid for Celta Vigo star Stanislav Lobotka, according to a report.

Spurs are yet to make a signing yet in the summer transfer window, but speculation is hotting up surrounding a couple of potential arrivals.

Reports earlier on Wednesday suggested that the north London side have made an opening bid of £25m for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.

Now, the Mirror claim that Spurs have stepped up their interest in Slovakian international Stanislav Lobotka who has a £31m release clause in his deal.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side do face competition from Napoli to land the 23-year-old, the report claims, and Celta Vigo did reveal last month that the player wishes to move.

Spurs face somewhat of a midfield crisis ahead of their Premier League opener at Newcastle, with Victor Wanyama nursing a knee injury and Mousa Dembele possibly departing the club before Thursday’s deadline.
