Tottenham given huge boost in chase for Lazio star

Tottenham have been given a huge boost to their hopes of signing Lazio attacker Keita Balde this summer.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettinho has admitted that he is still looking to bring in three players before the close of Thursday’s window, and Balde could well be one of them after Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi revealed the player is set to leave.

“We’ll have to replace him as we have to replace [new Southampton signing] Hoedt. He [Keita] is not available at the moment, we have to complete our team, the club’s technical director is aware that we need two new players in these positions,” Inzaghi said.

“Chievo is my only problem, I am not worried about players and transfer news. There will be a bad pitch in Verona and it’s going to be very hot. We must forget the Supercup win and after the International break we’ll focus on Europa League.”

The Senegalese attacker is expected to cost around €30million and his pace and power would certainly give Spurs a different dimension in attack.
