Tottenham make signing and plug Lloris gap with familiar face

Michel Vorm TEAMtalk

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Michel Vorm has re-signed for the Premier League club, according to a report in Holland.

Dutch outlet NOS, via Sport Witness have reported that 35-year-old Vorm has signed a deal with Tottenham until the end of the current season.

The source confidently report the deal as being done and the Dutchman will come in and fight with Paulo Gazzaniga for the no. 1 role with Hugo Lloris injured.

Mauricio Pochettino has made the move after Lloris dislocated his elbow in the recent defeat at Brighton. The French stopper is expected to miss the remainder of 2019.

The goalkeeper dropped a routine Pascal Gross cross on his goalline before stumbling backwards, leaving Neal Maupay with a simple header to give Brighton the lead.

But Lloris fell awkwardly as he back-pedalled into his own net, with his left elbow twisting the wrong way as he landed.

Vorm meanwhile, left Spurs in June following the conclusion of his contract and was expected to join a club in his homeland.

He originally signed for Spurs in 2014 from Swansea City and went on to make 47 appearances in all competitions for the club.

Vorm was on the bench for the Champions League final defeat against Liverpool last season.
