Tottenham, Man Utd stars both ‘want Real Madrid’ moves in Ancelotti overhaul
Carlo Ancelotti has been tipped to overhaul his Real Madrid midfield in 2022, and a pair of expensive Tottenham and Manchester United signings are both keen on joining the revolution, per a report.
With Barcelona struggling under the weight of their financial debt, Real Madrid appear to be in a two-horse race with Atletico for domestic dominance. The time is now for Los Blancos to re-establish themselves as Spain’s number one club. However, Spanish outlet Defensa Central claim they could be about to rip apart their midfield corps.
The publication claim Isco will not be offered fresh terms when his contract expires at the end of the season. Additionally, ties with former Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos could be severed if he goes in search of guaranteed minutes.
Luka Modric is also revealed to be renewing his Real contracts ‘year-to-year’. At 36, his time at the Bernabeu could be coming to an end, along with Marco Asensio who has been linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool after being ‘put up for sale’.
Ancelotti is therefore facing up to a major midfield re-build. As such, Defensa Central highlight four stars who ‘want’ to fill the void.
Firstly, record Tottenham signing Tanguy Ndombele is cited. The 24-year-old expressed his desire to leave Spurs over the summer, though an exit failed to materialise.
Ndombele cost Tottenham a whopping £55.45m in 2019. However, he has failed to meet expectations under three different managers in north London.
He was surprisingly linked with Chelsea in early October, while Jose Mourinho reportedly fancies another crack at prising Ndombele’s talent out in Rome.
Tanguy Ndombele targeted by former boss Jose Mourinho
Tanguy Ndombele is reportedly being targeted by former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho at AS Roma, with more news on Dejan Kusulevski and Nuno Espirito Santo.
Secondly, wantaway Manchester United misfit Donny Van de Beek is listed.
The Dutchman has made a minimal impact since arriving for an initial £35m from Ajax in 2020. Despite frequent struggles, the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay have regularly been selected ahead.
Today’s Paper Talk delivered strong quotes from former United general Paul Ince. He insisted Van de Beek must leave in order to resurrect his career. That came amid accusations Solskjsaer has “blatantly” lied to the player over his game-time.
Per Defensa Central, both Van de Beek and Ndombele, as well as Franck Kessie and Marcelo Brozovic all ‘want to wear the Real Madrid shirt’.
And with their midfield soon to be in need of significant reinforcement, a series of raids could be sanctioned.

Real Madrid eyeing discounted Tottenham deal
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are reportedly open to the idea of re-signing Sergio Reguilon, but only if they get a sizeable discount, claims a report.
The idea of the full-back returning to Madrid is one that has been floated previously. In fact around 12 months ago the 24-year-old opened up the prospect of a return when he labelled Madrid his “home”.
Now the talk has emerged once more with Defensa Central claiming “Real Madrid has neither decided nor ruled out on the re-purchase of Sergio Reguilon”.
The clause is set to expire next summer, so Real have less than 12 months to get their man back. And apparently they intend to negotiate a reduction on the price which will aid their decision-making process.
A price of €40m is understood to be too high for Real. That’s because the player “has not made a notable leap in quality in London”.
Real are reportedly hoping an offer of between €30m-€33m will be enough for Spurs to sell Reguilon.
