Tottenham, Newcastle move in on €65m man interesting Man Utd

Tottenham and Newcastle are both chasing Lille forward Jonathan Ikone, claims a report.

French outlet Telefoot suggest that both Premier League clubs are tracking the attacker

Ikone made his debut for France last year and scored just eight minutes after coming on to seal a win for Les Bleus over Albania during a Euro 2020 qualifier.

Despite scoring just four goals in 36 games in all competitions, Ikone is very highly rated in Ligue 1 and has attracted the interest of Man Utd and Everton.

Le Quotidien Du Foot in France claimed in March that Man Utd and Everton had registered an interest in the player, along with Sevilla in Spain.

Le Foot reported that a departure during the summer was ‘envisaged’ for the 22-year-old and the new report claims he could be tempted to move for the right offer this summer.

Ikone is under contract until 2023 and it’s claimed that Lille placed a €65m price tag on his head in January.

Le Foot say fellow Ligue 1 side Lyon made an approach for Ikone during the January transfer window, but baulked at the price tag on the Bondy-born player.

Meanwhile, Miguel Almiron’s agent says the Newcastle United attacker has a release clause in his contract and is “on the radar” of Atletico Madrid.

The former Atlanta United star, who became United’s £21m record signing in January 2019, has been linked with a move to LaLiga giants Atletico Madrid.

Spanish outlet Fichajes.net claim Almiron is attracting the attention of Atletico boss Diego Simeone.
