Tottenham on mission to land £45m winger; Chelsea bid rejected

Tottenham are determined to win the race to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha after Chelsea had a bid rejected, according to reports.

The Sun claims that the Blues had a £30million plus Danny Drinkwater bid turned down by Palace with the Eagles determined to hold onto their prized asset.

However, that hasn’t put off Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who is prepared to offer ‘a further £15m in add-ons’ on top of what Chelsea offered plus a healthy sell-on clause.

Tottenham haven’t signed any players this summer as they have made holding onto their star players their priority this summer.

And Pochettino admitted on Tuesday that he couldn’t guarantee that the club will make any signings before the transfer deadline.

The report continues by suggesting fringe players such as Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura could be offloaded to make room for Zaha.

After Aston Villa valued Jack Grealish, who is relatively unproven in the Premier League, at £40million, Tottenham decided to up their interest in Zaha after going cold on a deal for a little while.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have offered a new deal to N’Golo Kante in an effort to ward off interest from Paris Saint-Germain in the midfielder.
