Tottenham ready bid with Everton planning to snatch £30m defender
Tottenham are planning a fresh approach for Norwich defender Max Aarons after a report claimed Everton were reading a bid of their own.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the country’s most exciting full-backs, having starred for the Canaries over the past three seasons. While only one of those campaigns has been in the Premier League, Aarons illustrated his ability on a regular basis.
Spurs have been watching the player for the best part of 18 months and have earmarked him as a potential recruit. That need appears to have grown in recent weeks amid claims Serge Aurier is closing on a return to PSG.
And with a new right-back now a priority, Spurs had been considering both Aarons and Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey.
However, after the Seagulls apparently slapped a £50m asking price on their man, Spurs have seemingly cooled their interest.
Furthermore, Tottenham are likely to be pressed into action amid claims Everton are also readying an approach of their own.
The Toffees are seeking a long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman and have been tipped to move for Aarons. And they have an ace up their sleeve with his former Canaries teammate Ben Godfrey also making the move last summer.
And according to Sky Sports, that has pressed Tottenham into urgent action. As such, new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, is reportedly readying an opening gambit to snare Aarons.

Manchester City to offer a plethora of first-team players for Harry Kane, Atletico Madrid want Arsenal full-back and Wolves interested in Wales' No.1 goalkeeper, all in today's transfer chatter.
Norwich are reportedly seeking a £30m fee for any side looking to prise Aarons away. And while they would prefer to keep him, he could force their hand by asking for a move.
Tottenham planning Vlahovic swoop
Spurs, meanwhile, are also reportedly in the hunt to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Initially mentioned as a target for Arsenal, Vlahovic has also come under Manchester City’s radar as they seek Sergio Aguero’s successor. Liverpool and Manchester United have also been touted as potential destinations.
Indeed, as per Tuttosport, Liverpool have already held discussions with his representatives over a move to Anfield.
However, it is Tottenham who perhaps have the greatest need for a potent new frontman. With Harry Kane the subject of a concrete approach from City, they face the very real prospect of losing their talismanic No 9.
Paratici though has now put forward a proposal in an effort to bring him to Tottenham. While the amount is not specified, it’s reported the approach could well be accepted by Fiorentina. And their desire to sell will only increase amid claims Vlahovic is reluctant to sign a new deal.
