Tottenham ready to hand French goal-machine a Premier League return

Tottenham are interested in handing Marseille attacker Florian Thauvin a return to the Premier League.

Thauvin was deemed a flop during a miserable stay at Newcastle United in 2015.

The Frenchman failed to register a single Premier League goal before being sent back to Marseille on loan.

Since rejoining the French giants permanently, Thauvin has found a new lease of life and was instrumental in their journey to the Europa League final this year.

Only Edinson Cavani scored more goals in Ligue 1 over the season.

RMC says several European clubs are keen on signing the 25-year-old, including Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino is looking for attacking reinforcements this transfer window, and Thauvin could be the in-form player he desires.

Thauvin has provided a combined 44 goals and assists this season, and has been included in France’s squad for the World Cup.

The winger was in fact linked with Tottenham before he signed for Newcastle three years ago.
