Tottenham renew interest in red-hot striker after midweek hat-trick

Tottenham are reportedly set to go back in for Wigan hotshot Kyle Joseph after his superb hat-trick against Burton in midweek.

Spurs made a £150,000 bid for the Scotland Under-21 striker during the summer transfer window.

A tempting offer was also made to the player himself but Joseph decided against the switch, having also been a target for Sheffield United.

The north London side did sign one Latics one, however, with midfielder Alfie Devine making the switch.

Oldham need to come out of administration or face losing a handful of players this week, as reported in The Sun.

They currently have seven players on short-term deals and will not be able to keep them unless new owners arrive.

Tottenham are on the hunt for young talent, as they look to boost their academy. The fact that Joseph could arrive for a bargain fee is music to Daniel Levy’s ears.

The 19-year-old has scored four goals in 13 senior appearances for the Latics. But he hit the headlines with his stunning treble against Burton on December 29.

The Los Blancos boss wants all three to sign up to new deals sooner rather than later.

Modric, Ramos and Vazquez are all free agents in June and the trio can speak to interested parties from abroad.

Ramos is a target for PSG, while Spurs have also been linked with the veteran defender.

The 34-year-old Ramos is said to want a two-year deal, with Real only prepared to offer him a year.

Modric, 35, has also been linked with a return to Spurs, while Vazquez was reported to be a target for Man Utd by Defensa Central last month.

Zidane though wants all three to stay. Read more…
