Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly showing an interest in signing £10million Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth.

Spurs, who have yet to kick off their spending this summer, have targeted the 19-year-old centre-back, who represented Argentina at the Under-20 World Cup won by England earlier this year.

His agent, former Manchester United midfielder Juan Veron, is reportedly poised to have talks with Tottenham and Foyth is ready to reject interest from Russia and Italian outfit Roma in order to move to north London, according to the report in the Daily Mirror.

He said: “I would like to play in Europe, and if something comes up that convinces me and the club I will go.

“My agent never told me that an offer had arrived from Zenit. I would not go to Russia right now.

“If I do go it is not because I want to, but rather to help the club out economically.”
