Transfer Gossip: Ruthless Boehly puts six up for sale at Chelsea as Arsenal plan shock move; Leeds reject Man Utd star; Everton want ex-Real Madrid man on a free

Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic of Chelsea

Arsenal are gearing up for another raid on Chelsea with Todd Boehly putting six stars up for sale, a Man Utd star has seen a move to Leeds break down, while Thursday’s Transfer Gossip claims Everton are nearing deals to sign two free agents.

BOEHLY TO SELL SIX AT CHELSEA AS ARSENAL PLAN SWOOP

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has reportedly put six players up for sale after realising he has too many players to pick from at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have signed 17 players over the last two transfer windows, to the tune of close to £500m. The most recent addition, Enzo Fernandez, cost over one fifth of that, at a British record £105.6m. However, one pundit has ridiculed Chelsea over the signing, naming two Premier League stars far superior to him.

He will, though, have one less body to compete with after Jorginho departed for Arsenal on deadline day.

Chelsea, though, still have a seriously-inflated squad – and it cannot make life easy for boss Graham Potter to find his best XI.

Now, according to The Guardian, six of those stars are already up for sale ahead of the summer window.

Morocco winger Hakim Ziyech, who would have joined PSG on deadline day but for some admin mistakes, is the first of those sextet.

Following him out the door will be Christian Pulisic, who has had a reduced role this season.

Arsenal keen on Callum Hudson-Odoi

Another winger in Callum Hudson-Odoi, currently on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, will be the next through the exit door.

The three-times capped England man has gone off the boil in recent times. And his move to the Bundesliga has failed to help him get back on track.

The early form in his career almost earned him a move to Bayern Munich. Chelsea resisted a bid of around £50m at the time; but it’s been a downhill spiral for the star ever since.

Still only 22, The Guardian reckons Arsenal sporting director Edu wants to bring him across London to Arsenal.

The Gunners have raided Chelsea quite often in recent times with Jorginho the latest to make the move. Willian, Petr Cech, David Luiz and, this week, Jorginho, have all made the move in recent seasons. Now Hudson-Odoi may be the latest with Arsenal believing he can be signed for a bargain fee.

And next to be jettisoned are striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose return to London has been nothing short of disastrous. He has scored just three goals in 17 appearances.

Perhaps the most surprising name on their exit list is Matteo Kovacic. The Croatian has been a regular in recent times. However, he will have just a year left on his deal come the summer and Boehly reportedly wants him gone.

And finally the club are also seemingly looking to move on summer signing Kalidou Koulibaly.

They paid Napoli £33m to sign him over the summer and he’s been a regular in the side.

However, they have since shelled out another £100m combined on Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile. And the evergreen Thiago Silva is likely to be offered a new deal to put the brakes on claims he should sign for Liverpool.

EVERTON PLAN TO SEND SOS TO ISCO AND AYEW

Everton are looking to sign two free agents over the next few days in a bid to rescue their season.

The transfer window may have shut but that does not prevent clubs from bringing in free agent players at any time they like. The January window ended on a sour note for Everton. They failed to make a single signing despite going close to a number of players.

The final straw for new boss Sean Dyche was apparently the failure to land a Manchester United man, with Erik ten Hag slapping down the request.

However, all is not lost for Dyche and Everton, with a report on Wednesday suggesting they are ready to make a move for Andre Ayew.

The former Swansea and West Ham man is a free agent and ready to return to the Premier League. He is understood to have held talks with both the Toffees and Nottingham Forest over a switch.

However, Dyche is desperate to get Ayew on board and can offer him a place in the team following the exit of Anthony Gordon.

He could also be joined at Goodison by former Real Madrid playmaker Isco.

The 30-year-old moved to Sevilla over the summer after nine trophy-laden seasons at the Bernabeu.

But his move to Andalusia did not go as planned and his deal was torn up by mutual consent after just 19 appearances.

Now a free agent, The Times reports Dyche is trying to persuade him to move to Merseyside.

That would be a pretty sizeable coup for Everton. And if they can help the player recapture his spark, he may prove the difference maker between now and the end of the season.

LEEDS TURNED DOWN AXEL TUANZEBE

Axel Tuanzebe saw a move to Leeds denied on transfer deadline day with the Whites spurning the chance to sign the 25-year-old.

The centre-half has not played for Manchester United since 2021 and is surplus to requirements under Erik ten Hag.

Having let Diego Llorente leave for Roma on loan, Leeds left themselves a little light on the right-side of central defence. Indeed, Robin Koch is their only natural option – and he is suspended for Sunday’s trip to Nottingham Forest.

Leeds do have Max Wober, Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk as centre-half options – but all three are natural left-footers. Right-back Luke Ayling is another option to play there for Jesse Marsch. Deadline day signing Diogo Monteiro is not yet considered ready and will start out in the Under-21s.

However, they may have found a quick solution in Tuanzebe after the Red Devils offered Leeds the chance of a deal.

Marsch and Victor Orta, though, turned down the opportunity reports The Athletic, leaving Tuanzebe free to move elsewhere. As such, he instead moved to Stoke City on loan for the remainder of the season.
