Paper Talk: Bayern star sends defiant message over Man Utd transfer

Manchester United have seen their hopes of luring a Bayern Munich star to the Premier League suffer a setback, while a Newcastle hitman could be set to link up with Sam Allardyce at West Brom, according to Wednesday’s transfer gossip.

Kingsley Coman is adamant he won’t be lured to the Premier League any time soon and intends to stay at Bayern Munich.

The France winger was courted by Manchester United as they sought an alternative to Jadon Sancho.

And with Manchester City also showing an interest in acquiring his services, Coman was expected to move to the Premier League.

However, Coman still has three years left on his Bayern Munich deal so luring him wouldn’t be easy.

In addition, the winger has also been assured of his importance to Hansi Flick. Coman hit the winner in the Champions League final and also played a key role in their Bundesliga title success.

When put to him that United could relaunch a bid for his services, Coman is adamant where his future lies.

“It’s good to know that good teams are interested in me. It gives me additional confidence,” he said to SportBild, via The Independent.

“But I have a contract here until 2023, I’m just thinking of Bayern. It’s all good, I’m happy. I had the feeling that I could be used less often. I’m 24, that’s an age I have to play! Fortunately, my fear did not come true.

“Leroy [Sane] is very good, we play differently from City, he will only completely internalise our DNA. There’s four of us fighting for two positions now. We’re teammates, but of course, we all want to play as much as possible.

“At the moment I’m in a good mood, but maybe that will change in two months. Maybe then Leroy, Serge [Gnabry] or Douglas [Costa] will play. It is important that at least two of us are always in top form.”
