Paper Talk: Chelsea to launch summer raid for £63m goal machine

Chelsea are plotting another raid on the Bundesliga by landing a prolific striker, while Barcelona want to sign a Man Utd star on a free transfer next summer, according to Thursday’s paper gossip.

ANOTHER CHELSEA BUNDESLIGA RAID

Chelsea are reportedly planning a stunning raid on Borussia Dortmund for prolific striker Erling Haaland next summer.

The Blues have made the Norwegian striker a major target ahead of next season, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, as cited by The Sun.

The Stamford Bridge outfit are ready to splash more cash on the 20-year-old, having already forked out £230million this summer.

Haaland has a release clause of £63m release clause in his Dortmund contract which would facilitate a deal.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has already snared £70m Kai Havertz and £48m Timo Werner from the Bundesliga, and is seemingly ready to raid Germany again.

Haaland has been in sensational form for Dortmund since snubbing Manchester United and signing from RB Salzburg at the start of the year.

He underlined his striking credentials after netting a hat-trick in the 4-0 Nations League win over Romania on Sunday.

That treble made it 51 goals in his last 48 games for club and country and proved why he is in such high demand.

His scintillating form has put Real Madrid on a transfer alert, while United are expected to renew their interest in 2021.

A recent report suggested that Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still wants to bring on Haaland and Jadon Sancho next summer.

Solskjaer was left frustrated after failing to bring in top target Sancho over the summer, while Haaland is seen a long-term No. 9 – despite United bringing in Edinson Cavani.
