Paper Talk: Real Madrid centre-back to make Klopp demand if Liverpool act on interest

Eder Militao TEAMtalk

A Liverpool defensive target is ready to make a big demand if he arrives at Anfield this month, while Wolves are keen on signing a Serie A attacker, according to Thursday’s transfer gossip.

REAL STAR TO MAKE LIVERPOOL DEMAND

Real Madrid star Eder Militao would reportedly demand first-team football at Liverpool if he was to sign for the Reds.

The Brazilian centre-back has been strongly linked with an Anfield switch, after failing to earn regular first-team football under Zinedine Zidane.

The Premier League champions have been linked with several names, after seeing their defensive ranks decimated this season.

And The Athletic have reported that Militao, who has also been linked with Tottenham and Bayern Munich, could be a solution.

The 23-year-old has failed to make an impression at Real and was part of the side that were humiliated by third-tier side Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night.

However, despite his struggles, Militao is still highly regarded and has been tipped to leave on loan.

To that end, LaLiga pundit Kevin Campbell believes Liverpool would be wise to make a move.

“Militao is a very good player,” he told Football Insider (as cited by the Express).

“I have seen him play quite a bit and I really rate him. A Brazil international who is strong, quick, and still of a very good age as well.”

Campbell, however, believes the player would demand to play if he does make the switch – which could prove an issue for Jurgen Klopp.

He added: “Can I see it happening? Probably not. If he was to leave Real Madrid to go to Liverpool, he would want to start. He would not want to go there to be a back-up.

“I cannot see it but it all depends on what he has been told by the club because wherever he goes, he would want to be playing.”
