DEMBELE, BERTRAND SET FOR ARSENAL TRANSFERS

Arsenal are reportedly ready to push ahead with a move for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele this summer.

The French striker moved to Atletico Madrid on loan in January, with the Spaniards holding a €35m option to buy. However, after failing to find the back of the net for the LaLiga table-toppers, they are likely to pass up that chance.

Now, according to the Daily Telegraph, he’s emerged as Edu’s No 1 striker target at Arsenal. The Gunners will allow both Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette to depart this summer. And it’s believed they are willing to pay £25m to sign the former Fulham and Celtic man.

Dembele scored 44 times during his first two seasons in France and netted 51 goals in 94 appearances for Celtic.

Edu believes he can easily recapture that form in the Premier League and can keep Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on his toes.

In a further to bid to strengthen Arsenal in a problem position, the Gunners are also looking to sign Ryan Bertrand.

The Gunners have star quality in that position in the shape of Kieran Tierney. But his long-term role might be at centre-half. The Gunners have also looked vulnerable there whenever Tierney has been unavailable.

And with Bertrand available on a free, his signing would make a lot of sense.

AC Milan and Monaco have also been in talks, but the former Chelsea man favours a switch back to London.
