Transfer Gossip: Incredible double Man Utd raid on PSG possible with Ten Hag ‘monitoring’ world-class star alongside Kylian Mbappe; European interest in new Chelsea man ‘confirmed’

Marquinhos and Neymar of PSG

Kylian Mbappe is not the only Paris Saint-Germain star Manchester United are keen on signing as they are also interested in one of his world-class Brazilian team-mates, Bundesliga interest in a Chelsea midfielder has been ‘confirmed’ by a journalist, while Tuesday’s Transfer Gossip claims a Premier League forward has been offered a massive new contract to ward off Arsenal.

Man Utd could devastate PSG this summer by landing both Kylian Mbappe and his strike partner Neymar, according to reports.

When the French outfit added Lionel Messi to their stunning attacking options, they hoped the hugely talented trio would finally win them the Champions League.

But the coveted trophy continues to elude them. Last season, they were knocked out of the Champions League in the round of 16 by Real Madrid. And they could only reach that same round this term, with Bayern Munich advancing into the quarter-finals at their expense.

Winning just Ligue 1 is not good enough for the PSG owners and the UCL heartbreak could result in head coach Christophe Galtier losing his job. It may also see the devastating attacking trio of Mbappe, Neymar and Messi walk away from the Parc des Princes.

Messi is being targeted by Barcelona for a return to the Nou Camp, while Mbappe has been linked with Real and Man Utd. In a boost for Erik ten Hag’s side, recent reports have suggested Real will move on from Mbappe and instead pursue Kai Havertz of Chelsea to replace Karim Benzema in the next couple of years.

And there is now the possibility of Mbappe and Neymar heading to Old Trafford. According to French source Foot Mercato, Man Utd have been ‘monitoring’ Neymar’s situation for some time now.

PSG hope to offload the Brazil international in the summer to make space on the wage bill for some top new players to arrive. Man Utd are aware of this and are currently weighing up whether to make an offer for him.

The report explains how Neymar moving to Man Utd will only happen if they are taken over by the Qataris, whose bid is being headed up by Sheikh Jassim.

Such a takeover would give Man Utd the necessary funds to pay for both Neymar’s transfer fee and his colossal wages. Plus, PSG are owned by the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, so Man Utd’s prospective new owners would have the right contacts to make such a move a reality.

One factor which must be considered is convincing Neymar to move to the Premier League. Currently, he does not see himself leaving PSG and actually wants to finish his career with the French club.

The 31-year-old is in a strong negotiating position, too. His PSG deal runs until June 2025, though L’Equipe have reported he has the option to extend his terms until 2027.

Due to these circumstances, Man Utd must put on a huge charm offensive if they are to lure Neymar away from Paris. They will have to tell the attacker that he will become the main man in their team, while also offering him huge wages.

A double move for Neymar and Mbappe is a possibility, although it is clear Man Utd need to overcome a few obstacles before such transfers can be agreed.

Conor Gallagher has become the latest Chelsea star to be looked at by a European team as Borussia Dortmund’s interest in him has been ‘confirmed’ by one source.

A host of players look set to leave Chelsea this summer and a few of them could join some major European sides. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is hoping for a Barcelona reunion, with the Spanish giants also interested in N’Golo Kante, while Kalidou Koulibaly has appeared on Juventus’ wish list.

And Gallagher could follow those big names out of Stamford Bridge. On April 17, the Daily Mail revealed how Dortmund are keeping tabs on Gallagher’s situation and could launch a bid for him.

And the transfer rumour has now been ratified by Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg. In a tweet, the journalist ‘confirmed’ that Gallagher is being looked at by Dortmund.

The German outfit are monitoring the midfielder’s situation, although they are yet to enter into official talks with Chelsea for him.

Plettenberg adds that there is a good chance Gallagher will leave Chelsea later this year. However, this will only happen if one of his potential suitors get close to his price tag.

The Blues have set this at €50m (£44m). They believe this is a far price due to Gallagher’s big potential and his great performances while on loan at Crystal Palace last season.

But it is likely Dortmund will try to talk Chelsea down from this valuation. This is because they know Chelsea need to sell a lot of players this summer in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Premier League sides Brighton and Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old. But as things stand, there is a good chance he may be heading to Germany in the summer.

Crystal Palace are doing all they can to keep Wilfried Zaha at Selhurst Park and are even ready to hand him a record-breaking contract, as per a report.

Zaha is just a few months away from becoming a free agent after rejecting numerous contract offers from Palace.

It comes as little surprise that clubs in both the Prem and further afield are eyeing him up as a potential recruit. Zaha has established himself as a deadly top-flight forward, as shown by his record of 14 league goals in 33 games last season.

The Ivory Coast international started the current campaign in similar form, though he has recently been troubled by injury issues.

According to a recent report from Foot Mercato, those injury problems are not putting off Arsenal as they are ‘increasingly serious’ about submitting a contract offer to the star.

An update on the situation has now arrived from The Guardian. They reveal Arsenal have been joined by Chelsea, PSG, Bayern, Roma and Marseille in pursuing Zaha. Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad have offered him a lucrative contract, but he is preparing to reject it.

Despite the interest from so many big clubs, Palace are not giving up just yet. They have sent Zaha’s camp a new four-year deal worth £200,000 a week.

Should he sign it, Zaha would become the best-paid player in Palace’s history, and by some distance too. He currently takes home £130,000 per week.

The contract offer is at the limit of what Palace can afford, while it also represents a slight risk for them. It would see Zaha take home £200,000 every seven days until he is 34, at which point he may have declined slightly.

However, it has not convinced the player to stay just yet. He wants assurances over the club’s ambitions and their next managerial appointment before extending his terms.

After sacking Patrick Vieira, Palace have brought in Roy Hodgson on an interim basis. Zaha wants a top coach to arrive in the summer and help Palace follow in the footsteps of Brighton and Brentford before he signs the new deal.
