Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd’s resolve for €111m sensation remains

Lautaro Martinez TEAMtalk

Manchester United want to sign Lautaro Martinez, but are waiting for Barcelona to make their move, Chelsea are in talks with a defender, while Newcastle have contacted Mauricio Pochettino and want an €80m marquee signing, all in the Euro papers.

Manchester United retain a confirmed interest in Inter Milan’s highly-rated striker Lautaro Martinez, according to Sport.

United are looking for a frontman to help transform their attack and Argentina sensation Martinez is at the top of their list.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows that a deal for the 16-goal striker will be costly and difficult.

ESPN say that the player’s preference is to sign for Barcelona, with Paris Saint-Germain also apparently in the hunt as they look to replace the outgoing Edinson Cavani.

United though remain in the hunt for the 22-year-old, although they accept that they may have to wait for Barca to pass on the frontman before they can make a concerted attempt to land the Bahia Blanca-born attacker.

Barca though will not pay the player’s €111million buyout clause and will attempt to lure Inter by offering Arturo Vidal and Nelson Semedo.
