Jurgen Klopp, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Liverpool will look to sell eight players before the transfer window shuts with decisions made on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster, while Jesse Lingard is being linked with a shock move, according to Monday’s newspaper gossip.

OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN BID TO BE REJECTED

Liverpool have no intention of selling Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, amid growing interest from Wolves.

The midfielder has been strongly linked with the Old Gold. That’s after the arrival of Thiago Alcantara further increased competition for places in their midfield.

The former Arsenal man has suffered his fair share of injuries at Anfield. As such, a report claimed he could be sold back to claw back some of Liverpool’s recent transfer outlays.

However, the Daily Mirror are adamant Jurgen Klopp wants to keep the player and will rebuff all offers for the star.

Oxlade-Chamberlain made 30 Premier League appearances in all competitions last season but rarely completed 90 minutes. Indeed, he was often a substitute or brought on to make an impact with his energy.

Despite that, he still finished the season as Liverpool’s top scoring midfielder with eight goals.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is working his way back to fitness after suffering a knee injury in pre-season.

There could, however, still be a number of exits at Anfield.

The arrivals of Diogo Jota and Thiago for deals that could reach a combined £66m means the books must be balanced.

The biggest name to go will be Rhian Brewster.

According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace have now emerged as favourites to sign him. Sheffield United have long held talks, while West Brom are also keen.

But it is Palace who look most likely to do a deal worth £20m. Liverpool, however, are demanding a buy-back clause be inserted in any sale.

As per the Mail, Divock Origi, Marko Grujic, Harry Wilson, Loris Karius, Nat Phillips, Yasser Larouci and Taiwo Awoniyi will also be shown the door.

Borussia Monchengladbach are chasing midfielder Grujic. Cult hero striker Origi could stay in the Premier League, amid interest from Brighton.
