Jurgen Klopp is ready to make a surprise move for a West Ham playmaker, while Barcelona have offered Tottenham two swap options for Tanguy Ndombele, according to Thursday’s transfer gossip.

West Ham playmaker Manuel Lanzini has emerged as a surprise target for Liverpool, if the Hammers are relegated.

A report in Thursday’s media claims that Jurgen Klopp is considering bringing the Argentine to Anfield. The Reds boss is said to be a long-term admirer of the former River Plate ace.

The Daily Mirror stated that the German wanted to bring the 27-year-old to Anfield in 2017 for around £30million.

Liverpool have been in stunning form this campaign and are just two points away from claiming their first title in 30 years.

However, Klopp is refusing to rest on his laurels and wants to add a more creative edge to his midfield for next season.

A creative force in Klopp’s midfield three has been absent since the sale of Philippe Coutinho. Klopp instead prefers to rotate the likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Gini Wijnaldum, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain and James Milner.

But this latest report suggests that the Anfield chief is ready to make a move for a cut-price Lanzini, if the struggling Hammers do go down.

The talented attacker has had his fair share of injury issues at the London Stadium over the past couple of years. However, there is no doubting his ability when fully fit and he could be a another great option for the Reds, if they can strike deal.
