Liverpool are ready to spend big in an effort to sign their new No 1 midfield target, Tottenham are tracking an explosive Brazilian winger, while Thursday’s Transfer Gossip claims Mauricio Pochettino has eyes on two new midfielders at Chelsea.

KLOPP DESPERATE TO GET BARELLA SIGNING DONE FOR LIVERPOOL

Liverpool are preparing what is described as a ‘super offer’ to sign their new No 1 midfield target Nicolo Barella this summer.

Klopp is preparing for a mass rebuild at Anfield and is intent on signing a plethora of new stars. To that end, the midfield will likely be the main focus of attention with up to three new names likely to be targeted.

For a long time it seemed that they were leading the charge to bring Jude Bellingham back to England. But Borussia Dortmund’s £132m (€150m) valuation appears to have scuppered their chances. Instead, Klopp plans to use the funds allocated for Bellingham to sign two or three midfielders instead.

And while the Reds boss seemingly has a shortlist of six players, with the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch mentioned.

However, reports in Italy now claim Klopp is making Inter Milan star Barella his new No 1 obsession.

And so determined to get a deal done to bring the star to Anfield, Liverpool are preparing a huge offer for his services.#

Indeed, they are ready to offer Inter as much as £75m to get a deal done for the 26-year-old early.

And there is a growing feeling in Italy that the Nerazzurri will be forced to sell, especially if they miss out on a return to the Champions League.

They are in this year’s semi-finals where they are due to face city rivals AC Milan. But they currently sit sixth in Serie A and are in danger of missing out on next year’s competition.

With finances tight, a number of big names will likely have to leave, with Liverpool sensing a big opportunity.

POCHETTINO WANTS TWO MIDFIELD SIGNINGS FOR CHELSEA

Mauricio Pochettino is ready to kickstart his Chelsea era by making moves to sign two new midfielders, Fabrizio Romano has claimed.

The Argentine has verbally agreed to take charge of the Blues with his appointment now a formality.

And with an announcement expected to arrive in the next week, Pochettino is already setting to work on squad improvements.

Chelsea have spent heavily since Todd Boehly took charge at Stamford Bridge. However, despite his £500m-plus outlay, the Blues find themselves stuck in mid-table.

And since Frank Lampard was appointed as interim boss to replace Graham Potter, he has overseen a remarkable run of five straight losses, scoring just one goal.

Clearly Pochettino has his work cut out, though there is a feeling that the only way is up. And here are five reasons to be cheerful for Chelsea.

However, work is already underway by Pochettino at Stamford Bridge. And trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano has named two midfield targets on his wanted list, with Southampton’s Romeo Lavia and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone targeted.

“I already mentioned in the last two months some of the names they like, including Romeo Lavia and Manu Kone. But the decision will be made with the new coach, likely to be Pochettino. It’s not a two players race between these two, it’s something absolutely open,” Romano told Caught Offside.

Deals for either player are likely to set Chelsea back around £40m apiece.

Pochettino also reportedly plans talks over the future of Romelu Lukaku amid claims he could be afforded a Chelsea lifeline.

TOTTENHAM JOIN HUNT TO SIGN RAPHINHA

Tottenham are the latest name reportedly considering an audacious summer swoop to sign Raphinha.

The former Leeds winger moved to Barcelona last summer in a deal that could fetch up to £58m. And after a slow start, he has become a firm fixture in Xavi’s La Liga topping side.

However, with finances still very much tight at Barcelona, talk is mounting that a number of stars could be put up for sale. Indeed, they reportedly need to raise some €200m before June 30 in order to comply with FFP limitations.

As a result, the likes of Frenkie De Jong, Ansu Fati and Raphinha find themselves on Premier League clubs’ radars.

Of the trio, Raphinha is perhaps the most in demand. The Brazil winger now has nine goals and eight assists for Barca this season, underlining his very obvious qualities.

Barcelona winger Raphinha

And Arsenal and Newcastle are also reportedly both keen on his signature.

However, according to AS, Tottenham are the latest name to join the hunt.

They describe Raphinha as an ’emergency lever’ Barcelona could pull to get out of financial peril. And it seems they are ready to cash in on the player if a suitable offer arrives.

Any move would set his suitors back a vast amount, however.

According to reports, the winger could fetch as much as £79m (€90m) if Barcelona are to cash in.

He is not the only Barcelona player Spurs are tracking either. And reports claim they are also on the trail of an Eric Dier upgrade.
