KLOPP TURNS MIDFIELD FOCUS TO LYON STAR

Liverpool are interested in signing Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar to replace Gini Wijnaldum this summer.

Aouar has caught the eye with the French giants, with strong speculation over the past year that he could move to Arsenal.

The France international is currently valued at £54million, according to L’Equipe, and Jurgen Klopp has been keeping a close eye on his progress.

With the Gunners and Juventus missing out last summer, a report states that Klopp wants Aouar to replace Wijnaldum.

The Dutchman is expected to leave on a free this summer, with Inter Milan confident of striking a deal. Barcelona and PSG are also keen, but it seems likely that Inter will win the race.

Aouar is being viewed as the perfect player to fill Wijnaldum’s Reds’ role. At 22 he also represents the future, given that is eight years younger than the Klopp favourite.
