Paper Talk: Man Utd to be offered Bundesliga goal machine but summer signing must go

Andre Silva Hoffenheim v Eintracht Frankfurt February 2021

Manchester United will have the chance to sign a top striker on one big condition, while Tottenham are eyeing another Premier League goalkeeper – both in all the latest Paper Talk.

MAN UTD TO RECEIVE SILVA OFFER

Manchester United will have the opportunity to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre Silva in the summer transfer window, according to a report.

The 25-year-old has exploded onto the scene in the Bundesliga after two seasons as a loan player. He joined AC Milan in the summer of 2017, but could only manage two goals in 24 Serie A games in his first season.

As such, he joined Sevilla on loan in August 2018, netting nine times in 27 LaLiga outings. He could still not find a place back in Italy and moved to Frankfurt temporarily last season, scoring 12 times in 25 league appearances.

According to The Sun, Frankfurt’s plan for Silva involves their desire to sign Luka Jovic on a permanent deal. The Real Madrid striker, who left Frankfurt for Madrid in summer 2019, has returned to Germany on loan.

However, to do so, the Bundesliga club will have to raise significant funds, with Silva’s exit a key factor. As such, the club will offer United the chance to sign the forward in a deal which will cost up to £30million amid the cost of the pandemic.

However, the big catch is that Edinson Cavani must leave for United to take up the deal.

The 34-year-old moved to Old Trafford in last summer’s transfer window, on a one-year deal which features the option to extend by a year.

Cavani has impressed, but The Sun adds that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may decide not to take up the extra year given recent injuries.
