Paper Talk: Man Utd propose Jack Grealish swap deal

Jack Grealish Aston Villa TEAMtalk

Manchester United are ready to offer a swap deal to Aston Villa for Jack Grealish, while Liverpool want to raise £40m by selling two stars, according to Thursday’s transfer gossip.

MAN UTD OFFER ROMERO IN GREALISH SWAP

Manchester United will reportedly offer goalkeeper Sergio Romero as part of negotiations for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces a major dilemma this summer with Dean Henderson returning to the club after an impressive two-year loan stint at Sheffield United.

MEN Sport states that Henderson is determined to become the first-choice goalkeeper at Old Trafford. However, he will consider his options if he doesn’t receive assurances over regular game time.

Romero has impressed for United in the Europa League this season. But he was dropped for the semi-final defeat against Sevilla and has been strongly linked with a summer exit.

The Daily Mail suggests that Villa are interested in Henderson and have enquired over the 23-year-old’s availability. However, the report adds that United will look to offer Romero to Dean Smith’s side as part of a deal to sign Grealish.

Grealish has been a major target for Solskjaer all summer, despite the focus being on Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

However, with a deal for Sancho looking less and less likely, United have now turned to Grealish again.

The Villa skipper is also wanted by Arsenal, but one pundit thinks that could be a bad move.

Villa’s negotiating position has been strengthened after securing their Premier League status on the final day of the season.

But their need for a new goalkeeper, after Pepe Reina returned to AC Milan, may tempt them to part ways with Grealish – for the right price, in addition to Romero.
