Manchester United are in a transfer tussle for a star looking for a new career pathway, while Liverpool get a striker boost – both in all the latest Paper Talk.
MAN UTD WANT KEYLOR NAVAS
Manchester United have registered interest in a transfer for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas, a report claims.
The Red Devils have made bolstering their goalkeeping ranks a key task in this summer’s transfer window. While Dean Henderson has become the undisputed No. 1, doubt has emerged over David de Gea. The Spaniard has two years left on his deal, but it remains unclear if he will play second fiddle.
Behind the pair, reports have claimed that Lee Grant could enter a coaching role. As such, the hunt is on for a new back-up star.
Current Aston Villa deputy Tom Heaton has had links with a move back to Old Trafford for some time.
According to Marca, though, United now have interest in PSG’s Costa Rica international Navas.
The 34-year-old has had a topsy-turvy time between the sticks of late, starting with his time at Real Madrid. While he was the No. 1 choice for some time, Thibaut Courtois’ arrival changed that.
The same is happening at PSG, who are closing in on signing Gianluigi Donnarumma. The highly-rated Italy international has become a lucrative free agent after failing to agree a new deal with AC Milan.
As such, Navas wants to enjoy a twist of fate, with United keen to sign him. However, Juventus and Milan are both also interested.
Juve are aware of Gianluigi Buffon’s impending departure, while Milan are looking to replace Donnarumma.
PSG reportedly want €12million (£10.3million) for their 93-cap international.
