Paper Talk: Man Utd, Liverpool join West Ham in hunt for top LaLiga striker

Youssef En-Nesyr Sevilla striker

Liverpool and Manchester United will rival West Ham to sign an in-form Sevilla striker, Tottenham know who they want to replace Jose Mourinho, while Newcastle have a seven-man shortlist to replace Steve Bruce, according to Tuesday’s transfer gossip.

EN-NESYRI WANTED BY LIVERPOOL AND MAN UTD

Manchester United and Liverpool have both reportedly asked Sevilla to be kept informed on the future of Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Moroccan striker was the subject of an approach from West Ham during January. However, the Hammers’ bid of around £27m was rejected by the LaLiga outfit.

It’s understood that while Sevilla don’t want to sell, their stance could change amid financial concerns. They, like all football clubs around the world, have seen their finances impacted by the global pandemic. As such, it’s likely one of their prized assets will have to be sold. Jules Kounde, their prized defender, is wanted by a host of clubs.

Liverpool are also being linked with winger Lucas Ocampo – that in a swap deal for one of their unwanted stars.

However, it seems there is also a demand for En-Nesyri, with Liverpool and United both keeping tabs on the 23-year-old. He has scored 13 times in LaLiga this season and added another four in the Champions League.

Now, according to the Daily Express, via 90min, United and Liverpool have asked Sevilla to keep them in the loop over En-Nesyri. And if there’s any prospect of a sale, the duo will look to go head to head with West Ham in making a move.

He only joined Sevilla in January 2020, having arrived from Leganes for just £17m. But his immediate impact proves he’s a star on the rise.

En-Nesyri agent insists striker is happy

En-Nesyri’s agent Anass Ouzifi recently stated the striker was settled at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

“A few days ago another Premier League club called me again, an important team. They asked me what Youssef’s situation was,” Ouzifi told ABC.

“I told them straight away that it didn’t matter, that Youssef didn’t want to leave Sevilla, that he wouldn’t.

“They insisted and told me if they could offer something. I explained the situation well.

“Youssef is very happy in Sevilla, very grateful to the club and his teammates. He feels the affection of the fans. Youssef is happy.

“He is 23 years old, why would he want to leave? Not everything is money in life.”
