Paper Talk: Man Utd make significant Sancho offer but key factor remains

Jadon Sancho

Man Utd have made a significant offer for Jadon Sancho, while Man City are chasing an Inter Milan striker wanted by Barcelona, according to Thursday’s transfer gossip.

MAN UTD MAKE INITIAL SANCHO OFFER

Manchester United have reportedly made a significant offer for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

The England winger has long been Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s top transfer target. And it would now appear that a deal could be closer to getting done.

A report in Bild, as cited by talkSPORT, claims that Dortmund are expecting a bid of £109million from United for the 20-year-old.

And given that the German giants are after around £115m, that would appear to be a good starting point.

However, any deal now depends on whether the Red Devils are playing in next season’s Champions League.

After Man City had their FFP ruling overturned, only the top four spots will earn a spot in Europe’s top competition – with United currently sitting fifth.

Solskjaer’s men are currently level on points with fourth-placed Leicester. And they will face the Foxes in the last game of the season, in what could be a Champions League shootout.

With United and Dortmund are not too far apart in their valuation of Sancho, a deal could be done soon after.
