Transfer Gossip: One in, two out as Man Utd move for Bundesliga midfielder after major price drop; £48m Liverpool man a top Inter Milan target

Manchester United are ready to make a move for a Bundesliga midfielder whose price has dropped significantly as doubts emerge over the futures of two Old Trafford stars, while Friday’s Transfer Gossip claims that Inter Milan are ready to swoop for a Liverpool star.
UNITED KEEN ON CUT-PRICE MIDFIELDER DEAL
With doubts over the futures of both Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek this summer, Manchester United are expected to add more numbers to their midfield and have learned that a major target could now be available for as little as £26million.
Christian Eriksen will be coming off the back of a serious injury nest season, even though he could return late in the current campaign, while Casemiro will be a year older, Fred has already signed a one-year extension and Marcel Sabitzer is only on loan.
There has been talk of the latter turning his stay into a permanent deal. However, that will not stop Erik ten Hag bringing in at least one more option for engine room. And that option could be Borussia Moenchengladbach’s Kouadio ‘Manu’ Kone.
The Red Devils were linked with Kone back in 2021, when he was playing at Toulouse.
Meanwhile, L’Equipe reported that United have continued monitoring the player’s progress during his time in Germany.
Chelsea, PSG also chasing Kone
The 21-year-old has made 21 starts for ‘Gladbach this season, with the player also attracting significant interest from both Chelsea and PSG.
And that interest has only got bigger after Fussball Transfers reported that Kone’s price tag is now at just £26million.
Sport1 reported last summer that the midfielder was valued at £40million. But the fact that he only has two years left on his contract has seen that price drop significantly.
United are now expected to keep tabs on Kone before making a potential offer in the summer, in their bid to beat Chelsea and PSG to the talented youngster.
INTER CHASING LIVERPOOL MISFIT
Inter Milan are targeting Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita on a free transfer during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it claims that initial contacts have already been made with the 28-year-old’s agent. Indeed, the Nerazzurri are keen to sign him when his contract runs out at Anfield at the end of June.
Inter are looking for free transfer opportunities for the upcoming summer transfer window due to finacial contstraints, with the club looking to reinforce the squad with players who will not come with a transfer fee.
And according to the Gazzetta, the Guinean international is a player who has very much on their radar.
Keita has also been linked with a return to his old club RB Leipzig, while Barcelona are also thought to be in the mix.
The Reds forked out £48million when they signed Keita in 2018 but the signing has ultimately proved to be disappointing.
The midfielder has scored 11 goals in 129 appearances for Liverpool, although he has also been hampered by injury issues.
FULHAM DESPERATE TO SEAL PERMANENT DEAL
Fulham want to make Manor Solomon’s loan move permanent this summer, according to reports on Friday.
The 23-year-old Israeli winger is in blistering form and has scored four goals in his last four games, only one of them starts. That includes his stunning strike in Tuesday’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Leeds.
Solomon joined the Cottagers on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer. However, he missed three months before the World Cup after suffering a serious knee injury on the opening day of the season.
But after returning to fitness, the attacker has been making a huge impression at Craven Cottage.
So much so that the Evening Standard reports that Marco Silva wants to make the player’s move permanent, especially after London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham have emerged as contenders for his signature.
