Paper Talk: Man Utd working on three blockbuster transfers that will have fans drooling

Karim Benzema, Raphael Varane, Real Madrid

Manchester United are working on three huge summer signings to take them to the next level, Martin Odegaard wants assurances from Arsenal, while Monday’s transfer gossip claims Leeds, Southampton and Burnley are chasing a Newcastle star.

KANE JUST THE START FOR MAN UTD

Manchester United are reportedly working hard to get three blockbuster transfers done this summer in a bid to push them towards Premier League glory next summer.

United still have work to do to secure runners-up spot this season to runaway leaders Man City. Damaging home defeats to Leicester and Liverpool in their last two games have left them exposed.

But, according to the Daily Express, work is already going on behind the scenes to make three huge signings this summer.

And despite the securing of Edinson Cavani to a new deal, they claim Harry Kane remains their No 1 target. As per the report, it’s believed this summer remains possibly their best chance to bring the Tottenham hot-shot to Old Trafford.

The striker has serious doubts over his future. And coupled with the global financial crisis, it’s thought United could yet sign him for a bargain price. That said, any deal would still set them back well over £100m!

In addition to Kane, the paper insists United remain very much on the trail for Jadon Sancho. It was reported over the weekend that they are preparing an initial £64.6m bid for the winger.

Transfer Chatter: Man Utd search for new defender, Tottenham fight for Boateng

Man Utd have devised a three-man shortlist for a new defender while Monaco have joined Tottenham in the chase for Jerome Boateng.

Furthermore, there appears a gentleman’s agreement between Dortmund and Sancho that he can move this summer for the right price.

And finally, it’s claimed United also have placed Raphael Varane as their top defensive target. The France stalwart looks set to leave Real Madrid with just 13 months left on his deal. He’s a long-term target for United and could cost around £60m.

United hope Varane could do for their defence what Ruben Dias has done for Man City.
