An in-form West Ham target opens the door to a dream Liverpool transfer, while a former Manchester City man is in talks about a return – both in all the latest Paper Talk.
STUTTGART STRIKER REVEALS LIVERPOOL DREAM
Stuttgart centre-forward Sasa Kalajdzic says that he would struggle to turn down a move to Liverpool if the Reds came calling.
The Austria international has revealed fond memories of a previous trip to Anfield and admitted that the 2005 Champions League final comeback “gripped” him.
Kalajdzic told BILD: “I feel completely at home at VfB [Stuttgart], but it would be a really tough decision because I really like Liverpool.
“This club is simply special to me. When I was a kid, I saw the Champions League final in 2005 when Liverpool came back from 3-0 down against Milan to win. That gripped me.
“The last time I went to a Liverpool game with my brother, I really kitted myself out: I bought myself a scarf, jersey, cap and a mug.”
Kalajdzic left his native Austria in July 2019 to seek pastures new with Stuttgart.
However, his first season at the club all-but passed him by as he recovered from a ruptured cruciate ligament. Indeed, he made only six Bundesliga 2 appearances, benefitting from the pause in the season due to the coronavirus lockdown.
This term, however, he has been back on the goal trail and the Daily Mail have reported that West Ham have registered interest amid his recent form.
Kalajdzic has scored 12 Bundesliga goals this campaign, but seven of those have come in the past six games.
The Hammers are reportedly keen as they search for Sebastian Haller’s replacement.
