Paper Talk: Top Liverpool, Chelsea target Tchouameni makes big transfer decision

Liverpool and Chelsea have been informed of a major transfer decision involving top midfield target Aurelien Tchouameni, while Sunday’s Paper Talk also claims that Manchester United have been given a big lift to their hopes of signing Youri Tielemans.

TCHOUAMENI MAKES BIG TRANSFER DECISION

Liverpool and Chelsea look to have suffered a big blow to their hopes of landing top midfield target Aurelien Tchouameni this summer.

The Monaco star has been outstanding for the Ligue 1 outfit this season, leading to rumours that he will be on the move for a fee in the region of €50million.

Both Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel are known to rate the 22-year-old’s talents very highly. However, it looks like they might miss out on the talented midfielder.

Indeed, Tchouameni has indicated, like fellow Premier League target Erling Haaland, that he favours a switch to Real Madrid.

In terms of Liverpool‘s interest, the Reds are still to replace Gini Wijnaldum and believe Tchouameni can fill that void.

Chelsea are after the player as a long-term replacement for N’Golo Kante. However, they are currently hampered by the takeover saga surrounding the club after Roman Abramovich was forced to sell.

Chelsea will push for Tchouameni signing this summer as they identify problems in midfield. PSG, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United all interested as well

Finally, the report adds that Tchouameni believes he will have a better chance of first-team football at the Bernabeu. That is down to the fact that Real have an aging midfield, with Luka Modric 36, Toni Kroos 32 and Casemiro 30.

PAPER TALK – MAN UTD HANDED TIELEMANS LIFT

Liverpool have been completely ruled out of the race to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

The Reds, along with Manchester United and Arsenal, have been chasing the Belgium star for some time.

Arsenal target Youri Tielemans, James Maddison and Luke Thomas of Leicester

However, according to CBS Sports, Jurgen Klopp has other priority signings lined-up, which do not include swooping for the 24-year-old.

The report adds that United and Arsenal continue to chase Tielemans, while there is no foundation to reported West Ham interest.

The Foxes star has scored seven times in 38 appearances in all competitions for the club this term.

However, one problem which could arise for the Red Devils in the summer market would be if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

A separate report on Sunday suggests they could miss out on millions if they do not finish in the top four. That is due to a clause included in the club’s shirt sponsor deal.

Principal partner Team Viewer replaced Chevrolet a year ago as United’s front-of-shirt sponsor. At the time, they signed a five-year deal believed to be worth around £235million.

But if United are not in the Champions League next season they won’t bank the performance-related bonuses built into the £47 million-a-season contract.

PAPER TALK – TOTTENHAM SET ROYAL PRICE

Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty celebrate for Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham will reportedly demand €25million (£20.8m) if they opt to sell full-back Emerson Royal this summer.

The Brazilian also signed in 2021 when he swapped Barcelona for north London in a £25.8m deal.

However, the right-back has struggled to hold down a regular first-team spot, especially since Antonio Conte’s arrival at the club.

Matt Doherty has often been preferred ahead of the 23-year-old. However, he did start the 4-0 win at Aston Villa, with Doherty lining up on the left.

But speaking recently, Royal admitted interest from Atletico Madrid in snapping up his signature.

And now a fresh report suggests that Royal will be one of a number of Tottenham stars moved on.

Whatsmore, Spurs are looking to recoup the majority of the fee they forked out for the player.

The report from Spanish outlet Fichajes adds that Atletico are prepared to pay that amount. However, they are still keen on trying to reduce it.

Royal has made 33 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season. He grabbed his first goal for the club in the recent 5-1 drubbing on Newcastle.
