Transfer Gossip: Ten Hag identifies new Man Utd right-back signing to wreck Arsenal plans; Chelsea want £197m Brazilian; La Liga giants chase £31m Red Devils outcast

Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong

Manchester United will move for a new right-back this summer in a deal that spells bad news for Arsenal, Chelsea are chasing a £197m forward, while Thursday’s Transfer Gossip claims a La Liga giants are chasing a Red Devils star who has failed to impress Erik ten Hag.

TEN HAG PREPARE SUMMER MOVE FOR JEREMIE FRIMPONG

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has reportedly settled on a summer move for Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong.

The Red Devils boss has been in the market for a new right-back for some time after initially writing off Aaron Wan Bissaka. And while the former Crystal Palace star has since proved the United boss wrong, it is likely that a summer exit is still on.

And with Diogo Dalot established as the club’s top pick to play there, the United manager has been considering a number of options to provide cover and competition.

The likes of Malo Gusto and Denzel Dumfries are among those they have looked at. However, Gusto has since signed for Chelsea, while Dumfries remains too pricey.

As a result, Man Utd have cast their eyes over a series of other potential options.

Now, according to Kicker, United are firmly setting their sights on Frimpong.

The former Celtic man has caught the eye with some solid displays in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.

And Bayer are seemingly ready to to cash in on him this summer for a fairly modest sum.

Manchester United have seemingly been alerted to his availability. And now Ten Hag is apparently settling on the Dutchman as his No 1 target.

Man Utd deal to deny Arsenal chance to sign Fresneda

Indeed, a move to bring him to Old Trafford now looks relatively straight forward.

And it seems Bayer are already making plans of their own to replace the Old Trafford-bound star.

The man in their sights is Real Vallodolid right-back Ivan Fresneda.

The young Spaniard held talks over a move to Arsenal in January following his impressive form in Spain.

And while the Gunners were keen, they instead opted to shelve their interest and instead focus on signing a new midfielder.

Arsenal, though, do plan to come back in this summer for Fresneda.

Unfortunately for them, they look likely to be beaten to the punch by Leverkusen.

They are apparently hot on the teenager’s trail to replace Frimpong with a £15m deal on the table.

Per reports, talks between the two parties are already underway with Fresneda open to the move. And it seems an immediate path into the first team, courtey of Frimpong’s exit, could tip the scales in Leverkusen’s favour.

CHELSEA IN TALKS OVER DEAL FOR NEYMAR

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has met with PSG striker Neymar to discuss a move to Stamford Bridge, per reports.

The American has overseen an insane £500m-plus transfer bonanza since taking charge last summer. In that time, 17 new players have been brought in, though Chelsea’s results have since gone backwards.

As a result, Jamie Carragher could not resist a cheeky joke at their expense after their Champions League loss to Borussia Dortmund.

However, there are no signs that their spending will cease any time soon. And it seems plans for another major transfer assault are being put in place for the summer.

Now according to Le Parisisen, Boehly has recently met with PSG superstar Neymar to discuss a move to Chelsea.

The 31-year-old has been with Paris Saint-Germain since a £197m (€222m) move from Barcelona in 2017.

Contracted to 2025, he remains to this day the world’s most-expensive player.

However, a big-money switch to Stamford Bridge could be on the cards this summer.

Chelsea’s chances, though, may well depend on Lionel Messi. The Argentine’s deal expires this summer and he is unsure whether to commit to a new deal at this stage.

However, should he move on, Chelsea’s prospects of enticing Neymar will likely fade.

But if he stays, PSG are seemingly willing to move him on for a substantial fee – with Chelsea now ready to pounce.

SEVILLA LOOKING TO SIGN VICTOR LINDELOF

Sevilla are readying a summer move to sign Victor Lindelof, per reports in Spain.

The LaLiga giants have fallen on tough times this season and currently find themselves down in 12th place. With European competition unlikely next season, the club knows they may need a massive rebuild of their side.

As such, their manager Jorge Sampaoli has reportedly set his sights on a deal for Lindelof.

Man Utd centre-half Victor Lindelof

The 28-year-old Swede has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag and seems certain to depart this summer. Indeed, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire and even left-back Luke Shaw are ahead of him in the pecking order.

And with the player not in Ten Hag’s plans, he will likely be allowed to move on for a fairly modest fee.

His deal is due to expire in summer 2024, so United will not be seeking much for the Swede.

Indeed, reports in Spain reckon a deal could be struck for as little as £20m.

Lindelof moved to Old Trafford from Benfica in summer 2017. Now in his sixth season with the club, he has made 214 appearances, scoring three times.

But just 18 of those have come this season, with only four starts to his name in the Premier League.
