Paper Talk: Mourinho locks on to long-term target, swap deal on cards

Tottenham are watching Ivan Perisic’s situation closely and there may well be a swap deal on the cards, while Ben Chilwell will tell Leicester he wants to quit for Chelsea, all in the papers.

MOURINHO TARGETS PERISIC

Jose Mourinho could rekindle his interest in Ivan Perisic, according to Calciomercato.

Mourinho tried hard to land the Croatian winger while he was at Manchester United and now Spurs could make a move for the 31-year-old.

Perisic has spent the season on loan at Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, but the Bavarians look increasingly unlikely to trigger the €20m option to buy the player permanently.

Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte does not want Perisic either and the experienced attacker is looking for a way out.

Apparently Mourinho is keeping an eye on the situation with a a cut-price deal for Perisic in Spurs’ thinking.

Meanwhile, the same Italian source suggest that Tanguy Ndombele is of interest to Conte.

The former Chelsea boss is potentially looking for a replacement for Marcelo Brozovic – another Croatian he is trying to bomb out.

Brozovic is not looking to move on, but he hasn’t convinced his manager, and Conte has “identified” Ndombele as the “ideal profile” for Inter long-term.

A player-exchange deal may well suit both parties.
