Jurgen Klopp has been “disappointed” with Sadio Mane this season and has lined up a replacement this summer, while Jude Bellingham is wanted by a Premier League giant, all in the papers.
LIVERPOOL CHASE DEMBELE
Liverpool are lining up a move for Barcelona’s French forward Ousmane Dembele to replace Sadio Mane, claims a report in Spain.
Mane has not been at his best, like Liverpool, this season and Fichajes.net report that Jurgen Klopp has been “disappointed” with the former Southampton man’s form.
After transforming Mane into a world-class performer Klopp will be loathed to lose the forward, but the report claims the player has offers on the table. And so Liverpool’s backroom team have been looking at alternatives and 23-year-old Dembele is on the list.
The France international has just a year remaining on his Barcelona contract and has yet to sign the extension he has been offered.
Dembele is understood to have been offered a similar financial package to his existing deal for another three years.
His indecision has alerted Michael Edwards and Co and they are prepared to make a move this summer.
Dembele has scored 10 goals this season for Barca but his time at the Camp Nou has been a disappointment. He was a £135m signing from Borussia Dortmund in August 2017.
Liverpool could have rival interest from Manchester United too. United have been namechecked by the Spanish source, who claim much will depend on whether Dembele commits again to Barca.
